The phrase 'Iron and Stone Together' was coined by Li Dingxin, the Commander in Chief of the Republic of China Navy, in 1922. It is a metaphor for having a firm will and working together. As the saying goes, "With the Book, Respectful and Solemn Biography": "The heart is like an iron stone, old and steadfast. At that time, there was a division between the North and the South, and there were differences within the Navy. As the Chief of the Navy, this inscription not only praised the resolute will and concerted efforts of the soldiers in the Battle of Jiashen, but also implied the meaning of the naval community working together and acting in unison.
