Zhaozhong Temple

The Zhaozhong Temple was first built in 1885 to commemorate the martyrs who died in the Battle of Majiang between China and France on August 23, 1884 (the third day of the seventh lunar month). During the Republic of China, the Ministry of Navy was requested to move the memorial tablet of Chinese naval officers and men who died for the country in the Sino Japanese First Sino-Japanese War to the Zhaozhong Temple for joint sacrifice, which established the special status of Zhaozhong Temple as a special memorial temple for Chinese modern naval heroes. Opened to the outside world in August 1984. In 1996, it was announced as a Major Historical and Cultural Site Protected at the National Level.
